He looked at the stuff threw my Military ID back in my lap and walked back to his car. I had my drivers license, reg., insurance and Military ID ready when he walked up. thought "oh someone thinks I have a radar detector so they want to run with me? Lets see if they can keep up?" Well I got it up to 112 before he turned his lights on. I see a car pull out of the pack and again Young and dumb. So I rode the guys butt in the left lane until he eased up and I just took off. It was really late and I came up on a pack of cars in my vett (not the one pictured above) They were doing the speed limit (dumb, young and clearly not enough driving experience). That's a great story Cool! I had a similar one happen to me when I was driving through New Jersey. And I said "yes sir".crazy smart ass kid back then.Įveryone thanks. It WAS for me! He pulled me over, had me get in his car and said "Do you have any idea how fast I had to go to catch up to you?" I said, "well, look how far back you were" He said, "Don't get smart, you blew that red light and had to be going over a hundred" I said "no way" And then I wised off again to him and asked, "Aren't you out of your jurisdiction?" (this was already a different city) He said shut-up or I'll give you 3 tickets instead of 2. I didn't think it was for me but slowed down to about 65. About a mile down the highway going slightly over a 100 I looked in my rear view mirror to see cherry lights way off in the distance. There was nobody around and at the light was a sheet of ice, couldn't stop so I just slid through, made my left in my '68 red Chevelle and since not a car in "sight" I stepped on it. About 1 30 AM I had just dropped off my girlfriend (now wife) and a few minutes later proceeded to turn left at a light to get on a highway that would take me home. I also have a comment or story related to your caption above your lower photo: It was new years eve 1969. As far as using a screw driver to pull the first cover off, I just grabbed it and gave it a quick jerk - no problem. and I wedged it down under that little brace. I did the same thing regarding the old plug - taped it up but without the wire tie. Just a couple comments on your supplement. Wish I had some electrical schematics for my Challenger. Trust but verify, I would like to know why I did not hear it before the install. As of submission of this thread, so far Bad Grandpa on the Z told me it is a neutral safety switch and not to worry. I am researching this and will update accordingly. If you have an automatic you may hear a relay clicking when the car is in park and you press the brake (relay switches) and release the brake (relay turns off). I routed this wire the same way I did the phone cord in step 11. Sorry No picture for that I got in a hurry it started raining and I had to move into the garage. ![]() I cut away the wire ties holding this conduit in place and went ahead and folded the supplied "trunk lid jumper wire" into the conduit then re-zip-tied the conduit to the trunk lid. Just the right side so you can access the plastic split conduit that holds the OEM wiring in place. It is not necessary to remove the entire trunk lid liner. The connector slid off with a little elbow grease. Careful removing the trunk lid side panels the plastic is soft and can be easily damaged preventing replacement. snake the phone cord between the trunk liner and the rear fascia alternating over and under the tunk liner plastic rivets. steps 8 through 26 taking note of any tips below. Repeat steps 1 through 7 for the left side.įrom here follow W.E. ![]() Note: Again careful you do not nic any wires when feeding them through the chassis. Then line up the assembly and press with the palm of your right hand until you hear/feel the bolt plug into place. To ensure it is in place reach inside the trunk and feel the back side of the insert with your left hand (around the bend of the chassis, you will know it when you feel it). ![]() Ok when replacing the housing there is a pop in place bolt that will hold it in place without the wing nuts. ![]()
